🔼 A Bronx Tale. East Carolina pitcher Josh Grosz was selected in the 11th round of the 2023 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft by the New York Yankees.

The right-hander was a 2023 American Athletic Conference Second Team selection, started a team-high 16 games this season, compiling a 4-2 record, 3.66 earned run average and 79 strikeouts in 76.1 innings of work. He limited opposing hitters to a paltry .215 batting average and tallied four quality starts while notching multiple strikeouts in 14 contests.

🔼 The Spirit Of St. Louis. Another one! East Carolina pitcher Tyler Bradt was selected in the 16th round of the 2023 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft by the St. Louis Cardinals.

The right-hander transferred to ECU from VMI before the 2023 campaign, appeared in 18 games out of the bullpen, striking out 23 batters in 16.2 innings of work. He registered multiple strikeouts in seven contests, including a season-high three in games versus George Washington, Campbell, and Liberty.

🔼 Know Thy Opponent. East Carolina volleyball team will host 13 matches inside Minges Coliseum as well take on a new-look American Athletic Conference slate as part of this season’s schedule announced by fourth-year head coach Adler Augustin.

The Pirates return a large portion of their production from last year, including AAC Freshman of the Year and Second Team All-Conference selection Angeles Alderete as well as setters Payton Evenstad and Juliana Askew as ECU looks to secure its first postseason bid in program history.

🔼 Movin’ In. There’s a new (recruiting) sheriff in town. Brent Thompson has been named recruiting operations coordinator for East Carolina football. He comes to Greenville after spending the last nine years at The Citadel with the final seven serving as the Bulldogs' head coach. A veteran with over 25 years of coaching experience, he guided The Citadel to a 36-44 overall record and won the program's second ever Southern Conference Championship in his first season with a perfect 8-0 league record.
