Pirate Brew 5/6: Baseball beats South Florida
The baseball team won the series over South Florida 2-1.

🔼 Big Wins. The baseball team started its series against South Florida with an 11-1 win. Trey Yesavage struck out 11 batters in seven innings. Jacob Jenkins-Cowart collected three RBIs with his double in the second inning. Justin Wilcoxen went 2-for-3 at the plate with two RBIs and three runs. The men went on to win game two 8-5 and lost game three 4-5. The Pirates scored five unanswered runs in game two, and Bristol Carter led the team with three hits.

🔼 Regular Season Finale. The softball team played its last regular season series against UAB and won game one 3-1. Emma Jackson hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the third. Taylor Apple won the game, pitching 6.2 innings and striking out two. The Pirates were unable to win the series after losing games two and three 2-3. The program ends the season 37-18 overall and 13-14 in conference play.

Anotha’ One. Trey Yesavage recorded 11 strikeouts in his performance this past weekend against South Florida. He currently sits in seventh place on the program career list for strikeouts.
