The track and field team broke a meet record with 311 points.

Good morning. Bittersweet Senior Day for the track and field team after an amazing performance at the 10th Annual Bill Carson Invitational.

🔼 Broken Record. The women’s track and field team broke a meet record with 311 points and won the 10th Annual Bill Carson Invitational. The men took third place with 145 points. Melicia Mouzzon posted 11.31 and 23.30 times in the 100m and 200m which were both meet records. Royal Burris ran a 20.68 200m time which gives him the three fastest meet times in meet history.

🔼 Sweep. The women’s tennis team swept Davidson 4-0 for its 10th win of the season. The Pirates clinched the doubles point, winning two matches and one was left unfinished. The team won three singles matches and three were left unfinished.

🔼 Sweep! The softball team faced UTSA and won 6-1, 10-2, and 4-3. The Pirates had 10 hits in game one, with Emma Jackson and Jayci Chamberlain each recording two. The women run-ruled the Roadrunners in game two, where Taylor Woodring hit two home runs, and Jackson hit a grand slam. The Pirates had a walk-off win for game three thanks to Annie Kate Dalton’s RBI single. This is the first sweep over a conference foe since 2021 against Memphis.

🏴‍☠️ Up Top. The men’s golf team tied for second place in the I-40 Cup. The men played just one day and 36 holes against NC State and Elon. The Pirates scored 543 (-23). Ethan Hall tied for fifth place overall, scoring 136 (-6).

🏴‍☠️ Series Win. The baseball team faced Florida Atlantic this past weekend and won 4-1, lost 5-6, and won 8-6. Trey Yesavage threw 11 strikeouts over seven scoreless innings in game one. The Pirates scored eight unanswered runs in game three to clinch the series. Bristol Carter was the only Pirate to have multiple hits, going 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs.
