Good morning Pirates. Football player Darius Bell was selected to by the Saskatchewan Roughriders as the No. 29 overall pick in the 2026 CFL Canadian League Draft. Bell is the second Pirate ever taken in the CFL Draft. Last season, he started all 13 game at ECU and logged 968 snaps on the offensive line.

🔼 Wrapped Up. The men’s golf team finished in seventh place at the American Championships. ECU had a team score even to par at 864. Drew O’Neal led the Pirates individually with a score of 212 (-4). He tied for 14th individually. Luke Mosley followed in 25th place.

Four Honors. The women’s lacrosse team had four Pirates earn All-Conference honors. Sarah Goodison, Emma Magazu and Kayla Wilkes all earned First Team All-Conference honors.

🏴‍☠️ Double Honors. The baseball team had two players earn American Conference weekly honors. Jack Herring was named the Player of the Week. He leads the Pirates in seven different offensive categories: batting average (.377), slugging percentage (.630), RBI (46), doubles (13), home runs (8) and total bases (97). While leading the Pirates, Herring also leads the conference in walks (38) and on-base percentage (.503). Joseph Webb was named the Pitcher of the Week. Webb now holds a season 3.09 ERA after the weekend, and with his sixth win of the season, he currently has the most wins for the Pirates, as well as keeping opponent batting average to a low of .180.
