Good morning Pirates. Quarterback Katin Houser was named a Manning Star of the Week. He is one of eight quarterbacks to earn the honor. He was also named to the American Conference Weekly Honor Roll. Houser completed 23 of 34 passes for 332 yards in ECU’s win over Memphis.

🔼 Top Play. The football team is the winner of the Cheez-It Crunch Time Play of the Week. Payton Mangrum’s 31-yard touchdown grab from Katin Houser with 1:08 left in the game led the Pirates to beat Memphis 31-27. ECU will receive a custom Cheez-It care package delivered to its campus for winning this week.

🔼 Welcome! The women’s basketball team has five new athletes joining the 2026 roster. Rylie Hite is a combo guard from Virginia. Tristan Rickenbacker is guard/forward from Virginia. Ava Rush is a guard from South Carolina. Irieanna Smoot is a guard from Virginia. Alexandra Vandiver is a guard/forward from Maryland.

🔼 Mark the Calendar! The lacrosse team released its 2026 schedule! The women will play a 16-game regular season slate with seven home contests. The first three games of the season are at home, starting on Feb. 7. The American Conference Tournament will be hosted at Vanderbilt on April 30 and May 2.

Brian also joins Pirate donor Carl Rogers on why Charley's Kid Zone at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium is a family dream come true.

🔼 Even. The men’s basketball team is 2-2 overall this season after falling to UNCW 85-60 on Tuesday. Jordan Riley led the team with 19 points. Tybo Bailey was the only other Pirate in double-figures with 10 points.
