🔼 Very First. For the first time in her career, Amiya Joyner was named the American Athletic Conference’s Player of the Week. Joyner averaged 19.5 points, 13.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 3.0 steals and 4.0 blocks per game in two ECU dubs. Starting with the George Mason game on Dec. 18, she had 27 points, 16 rebounds and six blocks. She became the first Pirate to put up 25+ points and 15+ rebounds in a game since 2004.

🔼 Top Dog. The Pirates have had four straight American Athletic Conference regular season titles, and the road looks bright for 2024. ECU was picked first in the 2024 Preseason Coaches Poll. The team has been picked first in the preseason poll six straight times and seven overall since joining the conference prior to the 2015 campaign. The Pirates gathered 81 points and the maximum nine first-place votes.
