📈 STOCK UP

🔼 That’s Three. The baseball team took down Rider, going 3-0. The Pirates won the first game 16-2, the second game 7-0 and the third game 7-0. Parker Byrd made his college debut in the eighth inning, becoming the first NCAA DI student-athlete to play in a game with a prosthetic leg. Zach Root had seven strikeouts and no runs allowed in 4.2 innings in game two. This is the first time the Pirates have had consecutive shutouts since 2015.

🔼 Winning Weekend. The softball team had many games this weekend and won four of them. The Pirates took down Fairfield 2-1 and 8-0, Marshall 13-1, and Longwood 6-0. Taylor Apple recorded 10 strikeouts in eight innings in game one. Morgan Johnson went 5-6 at the plate and tallied 11 RBIs in the double-header on Saturday. Addy Bullis had her third win of the season after tossing five strikeouts and only firing up three hits.

🔼 That’s a Dub. The men’s basketball team beat Tulane 81-67 for its seventh win of the conference season. This is the most wins the Pirates have had in the American Athletic Conference since joining the league prior to the 2014-15 season. RJ Felton scored 21 points and six rebounds, becoming the 34th player in program history to reach 1,000 career points as a Pirate. Brandon Johnson had 20 points and nine rebounds.

🏴‍☠️ Connect 4. The women’s tennis team won its fourth straight competition in a row after beating Chowan 7-0. The Pirates did not drop a single set in singles play.

🎾 Here’s more about the win.

🏴‍☠️ Hard Loss. The women’s lacrosse team lost its game against No. 19 Navy 16-6. Brynn Knight made nine saves in the final three-quarters of the game. Kayla Wilkes and Leah Bestany scored a pair of goals each.
