The football team beat Florida Atlantic 49-14.

🔼 Thursday Night Dubs. The football beat Florida Atlantic 49-14. Chase Sowell, Winston Wright Jr., Rahjai Harris, Katin Houser, Anthony Smith and Jayvontay Conner scored for the Pirates. Houser threw for 343 yards, completing 17-22. Zakye Barker led the defense with eight tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and one sack.

🔼 Kick-Off. The soccer team took down South Florida in double overtime and five rounds of penalty kicks. The teams were tied 1-1 after the second half. No goals were scored in two overtimes. The Pirates won 5-3 in penalty kicks. Sydney Schnell scored in the second half. Juliana Viera scored the game-winning penalty kick. This is the first American Conference Championship appearance. The women will play the winner of the Memphis vs. Rice game for the AAC on Sunday at 2 p.m. ET.

🏴☠️ First Dub. The women’s basketball team won its season-opener against Charleston Southern 81-56. Jayla Hearp had a career-high 21 points, and Taliyah Wyche had her first career double-double with 12 points and 10 boards. The Pirates forced 26 turnovers in the game and scored 29 points off of them. Four women scored in double figures.
