🔼 No Net Earnings. Despite holding a 19-2 edge on shots, the East Carolina soccer team could not find the back of the net in a 0-0 draw with Campbell on Sunday night in Johnson Stadium. The Pirates fired 13 shots in the second half alone as they pushed for the goal, which never came.

The draw may have disappointed the Pirates, riding back-to-back wins, but at 2-0-1, the squad still has its best start since 2017.

The Pirates will look to get back in the win column as they host Coastal Carolina on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.

🔼 A Donut for The Phoenix. ECU took down Elon in an exhibition match on Saturday, 3-0.

The regular season starts this Friday, Aug. 30, with the Pirates facing Queens in the Hampton Inn & Suites Seahawk Classic.

🔼 Godwin’s Gets. 2024 American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year Cliff Godwin formally announced East Carolina's 31-man incoming class Friday, a well-balanced group that features 15 position players and 16 pitchers.
 
During his 10 years at the helm of the program, Godwin, a five-time American Athletic Conference Coach-of-the-Year honoree and a two-time Academic All-America selection as a player at ECU, has guided ECU to eight NCAA Regional berths (2018, 2019, 2021, 2022 and 2024 Greenville Regional host), four Super Regional appearances (2022 Greenville Super Regional host), five American Athletic Conference regular season and three AAC Tournament crowns while posting a 397-187-1 (.679) overall record.

Under his direction, 14 players have earned All-America status, while 25 have been named to NCAA All-Regional Teams. Additionally, 46 student-athletes have garnered all-conference status (27 first-team selections), and 28 players have been drafted by Major League Baseball teams.

🏴‍☠️ What’s All the HOOPla? Yes, it’s football week, but that doesn’t mean we have to put basketball on the back burner. The East Carolina men's basketball team announced their non-conference slate a little over a week ago.

The team is scheduled to face off against nine opponents inside Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum as part of its 13-game non-conference schedule for the 2024-25 season.
