🔼 Starting Strong. So far, we’ve had two ECU teams beat Elon this season— First, it was soccer winning 2-1 and here comes volleyball earning a quick three-set victory. After the Pirates took home the dub, they continued to play the fourth and fifth sets so each team could let their athletes get a feel for the court in their first match of the season.

The Bash in the Boro marks the beginning of regular season play and it’s going down starting this Friday with a pair of matches against UNC Greensboro and one Georgia Southern.

🔼 Shining Scholar. Never back down, never give up. Jhari Patterson has faced multiple challenges throughout his college career, but he made a promise to his mom, saying that he will attack them head on. That promise was pinky sealed and fully executed, leading the Pirate to receive a scholarship at the end of fall camp this past weekend.

“It was a lot of stress and a lot of adversity. But I pushed through and I’m just so happy I got to this point.”

🤔 PIRATES TRIVIA

Fill up Ficklen. ECU football’s home opener is coming up in just 19 days, and we need to pack Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium. And at last season's home opener, y’all overfilled the 50,000-seat stadium.

Today’s question—do you remember how many were in attendance at the NC State game last season?

We like our Brew hot n’ fresh. But we’re not opposed to you reheating your cup. Here’s some news you may have missed recently…

🏴‍☠️ Closing Time. Fall camp is over, and I know that may sound sad, but in reality, its great news because that means the first game is right around the corner! Head coach Mike Houston loves a good challenge—bring on the heat and physical toughness and he is gleaming with joy.

🏴‍☠️ Home Hope. Women’s soccer started off strong with a 2-1 win against Elon in their exhibition game but fell to North Carolina in their second exhibition game and Florida in the first preseason game.

The Pirates held North Florida to a 0-0 tie yesterday, and their next game will be this Thursday at home against George Mason. The women hope to get their first win of preseason on home turf, so make sure to come out and support!
