🔼 Updates! East Carolina University Athletics Director Jon Gilbert shared a summer update highlighting that preparations for the 2026 football season are well underway, including the complete re-sodding of Bagwell Field. Fan excitement is exceptionally high, with football season ticket sales pacing ahead of last year and premium seating in TowneBank Tower completely sold out for the sixth consecutive year. Gilbert also provided a progress report on the Pirates Unite Campaign, thanking donors for fully funding multiple projects and requesting that outstanding pledges be fulfilled to finish the historic initiative strong. As a result of this generosity, several major athletic facility upgrades—including the Isley Indoor Performance Center, the Dick and Sarah Bennett Baseball Building, a new golf training facility, and the Tailgate Plaza—are scheduled for completion by the end of 2026.

🏴‍☠️ Let’s Review. The 2025–26 academic year marked one of the most memorable periods in East Carolina University Athletics history, characterized by standout team performances and historic individual milestones across all 18 sports. Highlights from the competitive arena included a nine-win season and Military Bowl victory for football, an eighth consecutive NCAA Regional appearance for baseball, and a national championship for the cheer program. Off the field, Pirate student-athletes excelled just as remarkably, achieving a department-record 3.38 annual GPA and dedicating more than 4,000 hours to community service. Backed by over $21 million in philanthropic support from Pirate Nation, the university is actively investing in its future with major facility upgrades—including the Isley Indoor Performance Center and a new golf building—set to open later this year.
