Pirate Brew 10/4: Lucas' Partay

Today, we're looking at records being set on the men's golf team.

Good morning. Today feels like a great day to get dressed up and photoshoot-ready. But will you look as good as the men’s basketball team on media day?

What else are we mixing into today's Brew?

🏌️ Augustsson setting records
⚽️ Sowa receives another honor
🏴‍☠️ And much, much more!

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Top Tier. Lucas Augustsson is only a sophomore and has set two school records while playing at the Ironwood Collegiate Classic. He set a new 36-hole record with a score of 130 (-14) and an 18-hole relative to par score of -9. Augustsson also tied the 18-hole score of 63.

He won the tournament with a final score of 201 (-15), marking his third career win. Augustsson also tied the career mark in wins, joining John Maginnes, who set the mark during his 1986 and 1988-91 careers. Following Augustsson was Carter Busse, who finished fifth, hitting 207 (-9). The team overall finished in second place with a total of 841 (-23).

🔼 Anotha’ One. Being named AAC Defensive Player of the Week just wasn’t enough for Abby Sowa. Her skilled performance last week grabbed her the honor of College Soccer News Women’s National Team of the Week. She played the full 90 minutes against Florida Atlantic and assisted Sydney Schnell’s goal. She also made her first goal of the season against South Florida off of a penalty kick.

🔼 Fast Fish. Kaylee Hamblin helped the Pirates to a quad-meet sweep over Barton College, Catawba, and Gardner-Webb this past weekend. She snagged first place in three events: 100-yard breaststroke (1:02.76), 200-yard breaststroke (2:17.23), and swam on the 200-yard medley team that placed first with a time of 1:43.89 where she swam the second leg (28.32).
