🔼 Welcome Home. The football team has another new staff member. Matt Mattox is now the Offensive Line Coach for the Pirates. Mattox has been coaching for nearly 20 years, with his most recent job being with Ronald Reagan High School. He’s coached at UTSA, USF, Texas, Tulsa, Bowling Green, Eastern Illinois, and many different junior colleges.

Mattox has been a part of seven bowl games, nine conference championship squads and two NJCAA National Championship teams. Head coach Mike Houston says that Mattox is “physical in the running game while being able to protect the quarterback.”

Quick Switch. Matt Mattox is now the Offensive Line Coach for ECU. He replaced Allen Mogridge, who coached the Pirates for a short time.
