🔼 Fandemonium Ensued. With 6,865 fans in attendance, it was an all-time record for an East Carolina women's basketball game as the Pirates defeated Howard, 65-44, on Wednesday afternoon in Minges Coliseum. Amiya Joyner was sensational in the game, with a career-high 32 points to go with 15 rebounds and a pair of blocks. She has 102 for her career, inching towards fifth in ECU history.

🔼 Tourney Time. No. 3 seed East Carolina makes its first appearance in a conference tournament since 2008 this afternoon. The Pirates—who logged a third-place finish in the league standings, marking its highest since joining The American—face off with sixth-seeded Florida Atlantic to open the 2024 American Athletic Conference Volleyball Championship inside Wichita State University's Koch Arena. The quarterfinal contest is set for a noon first serve.

🔼 Boardwalk Battle Blip. RJ Felton and C.J. Walker each scored a game-high 20 points, but East Carolina couldn't overcome a cold-shooting second half as the Pirates suffered their first loss of the year, falling to Jacksonville State 86-78 in the opening round of the Boardwalk Battle on Thursday afternoon.

🔼 Bump This Post. East Carolina graduate student and right-side Fran McBride has been named to the 2024 All-American Athletic Conference First Team. Junior outside hitter Angeles Alderete was also tabbed to the All-AAC Second Team, while setter Taryn Gilreath earned All-Freshman Team accolades. McBride, the fourth Pirate to earn All-AAC First Team recognition since East Carolina joined the league before the 2014 season, currently ranks seventh in the conference in hitting percentage (.308) and leads ECU in total blocks (80).

🔼 Everything’s Coming Up Softball. Trips to South Carolina and Clemson, home midweek matchups with Duke and Michigan, and a 27-game American Athletic Conference slate highlight East Carolina's 56-game schedule as the Pirates unveiled their 2025 spring slate on Wednesday.

🔼 Full “STEM” Ahead. East Carolina punter Luke Larsen, a graduate student in industrial logistics and distribution, has been named a Go Bowling Military Bowl STEM Scholar-Athlete for the second consecutive year. He joins Pirate Alum and five-year letterman Myles Berry (2021-22) as two-time award recipients. Larsen has a 3.7 grade-point average while pursuing a master's degree in business administration.
