Pirate Brew 4/10: Good Knight
Today, we're celebrating a record-setting win.
Good morning! Great job Pirate Nation, the Jungle was rocking yet again.
It felt like the Pirates were playing at altitude this weekend with all the power they showed at the plate.

📈 STOCK UP
🔼 Good Knight. It took 12 innings, but No. 12 East Carolina (24-8) baseball finished off a sweep of UCF over the weekend with a 3-2 walkoff win.
Justin Wilcoxen was the man for the job in the bottom of the 12th, lining a single into left field to score Lane Hoover.
MVP of the weekend goes to Alec Makarewicz, who racked up eight hits over the three-game series, driving in seven runs and scoring five times himself.
🔼 Gold On Top. Team Gold got the best of Team Purple at ECU football’s annual Purple-Gold Spring Game inside Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium on Saturday.
Alex Flinn led two touchdown drives for Team Gold, throwing for one and running one in himself. The junior quarterback completed 19-of-22 passes for 173 yards, and also led all rushers with 68 yards thanks in large part to his 62-yard touchdown run.
Mason Garcia quarterbacked the Purple squad, completing 17-of-29 passes.
Teylor Jackson and Samuel Dankah both snagged interceptions in the game.
🔼 Double Digits. Nine fourth quarter goals put ECU lacrosse’s 10th win of the season on ice, as it beat Cincinnati by a 18-8 final. The 10 wins this season are the most in program history.
Seven pirates scored in the final 15 minutes, including a pair of goals from Frances Kimel, who became the program’s all-time single-season scoring leader with 62 points. Kimel had four goals and an assist in the game.
Camryn Pennypacker scored four times as well, and Emily Stratton registered a hat trick.
🔼 Saturday Split. ECU softball split a pair of Saturday games in Houston against the Cougars, winning the first game 12-8 before falling 7-6 via walkoff in the series finale.
Taylor Edwards had five hits on the day, including a 4-for-4 line with a home run in game one. Her season batting average now stands at .402.
Logan Sutton and Anna Sawyer both had two hits and two RBI in game one, and Sutton added another pair of runs driven in during game two.
🤔 PIRATES TRIVIA
Spring Cleaning. The East Carolina baseball team swept Central Florida over the weekend. In fact, the Pirates have been doing quite a bit of sweeping this year.
