🔼 Oh, How Sweep It Is. East Carolina cruised to a three-game sweep of Cincinnati over the weekend, finishing it off with a 13-3 run-rule victory on Sunday.
ECU was up 5-0 after two innings in game one and never looked back, winning 9-4. Cam Clonch and Josh Moylan both hit three-run home runs, and Trey Yesavage picked up his sixth win.
The Pirates decided seven innings were all they needed on Saturday, run-ruling Cincinnati 10-0. Carter Spivey tossed a complete game shutout, and ECU knocked out 14 hits, including yet another Moylan three-run tank.
🔼 Winner Winner, Tiger Dinner. The Pirates picked up their first conference series win of the season over the weekend against Memphis, taking two-of-three from the Tigers.
A pair of 4-2 wins in the first two games of the series clinched it. Jayci Chamberlain had two hits, including a big sixth-inning home run, as ECU came from behind in game one. Four first inning runs were all the Pirates needed in game two, capitalizing on Memphis miscues and drawing some heady walks.
Game three was tied 3-3 heading into the fourth inning, but Memphis scored three unanswered runs to take the contest 6-3.
🔼 Up And Over. Sydni McMillan highlighted a successful showing for ECU track and field at the Trojan Relays with her performance in the 100-meter hurdles.
McMillan’s 13.52 second run gave her many accomplishments - a win on the day, a personal record, and a fourth-place spot in the ECU record books.
🔼 Tough In Net. East Carolina lacrosse dropped its road contest to No. 9 Florida over the weekend in a low-scoring 10-5 game.
Brynn Knight was phenomenal in goal for the Pirates, making 16 saves overall and seven in the first quarter alone. Frances Kimel scored a pair of goals for East Carolina.
