🔼 Record Shattered. East Carolina track & field rewrote many top-10 lists in school history over the weekend, but none more prominent than Alyssa Zack, who broke the school record in the 10,000m.

Zack ran the event in 35:07.77, besting Anna Bristle’s previous record by nearly 10 seconds.

Next up for East Carolina track & field is the AAC Outdoor Championships from May 12-14 in Tampa, Fla.

🔼 Augustsson Shines. Freshman Lucas Augustsson put together an upperclass effort at the AAC Championships, shooting a final round 1-under 69 to finish in a tie for third place at the tournament.

For Augustsson, it was the first time in his college career he has carded three rounds under par at an event. As a team, a final round 280 from the Pirates moved them up two spots, from ninth to seventh in the conference.

🔼 Road Trip Troubles. East Carolina baseball hit a bump in the road over the weekend, dropping each of its three games against Wichita State.

Wichita State’s pitchers, who came into the weekend with the second-best ERA in the conference, were the story - the Shockers only allowed three total runs over the three-game series.

🔼 Not Much Love. East Carolina lacrosse couldn’t ever quite get its footing against Temple in Philadelphia over the weekend, losing 11-7 to the Owls.

Camryn Pennypacker and Ellie Bromley led the charge for the Pirates, each scoring three goals.

With a spot in the AAC tournament still up for grabs, East Carolina will look to punch its ticket with a win over James Madison on Saturday.

🤔 PIRATES TRIVIA

Nothing For You. East Carolina alum Gavin Williams, one of the top prospects in baseball, is tearing apart minor league lineups this season.

Through three starts, he’s been nearly unhittable. Just how many hits has Williams surrendered this year?

🎉 TRIVIA ANSWER

Answer: Just six!

Williams has a minuscule 0.63 ERA in 14.1 innings, striking out 20 and walking just three so far. That’s the definition of dominance.

Have a great Monday, y’all.
