Pirate Brew 4/6: Lift Off
Today, we're ramping up for a conference showdown.
Good morning! Tuesday’s atmosphere at Clark-LeClair Stadium was unbelievable. Of course, when a home run derby breaks out in the middle of the game, that tends to happen.
The Pirates have three more games this weekend in the Jungle, what do you say we do it again?
What all are we mixing into today's Brew?

📈 STOCK UP
🔼 Day & Knight. ECU baseball, fresh off a 13-9 win over NC State in the midweek, welcomes in UCF for a three-game weekend series at Clark-LeClair Stadium.
Due to anticipated weather in the area this weekend, the Pirates and Knights will play a doubleheader on Thursday, with Game 1 beginning at 2:00pm ET and Game 2 starting 45 minutes after Game 1.
ECU (21-8) has newfound momentum heading into the series after the six-home run onslaught against the Wolfpack on Tuesday. UCF enters the weekend with a 17-12 record.
🔼 Lift Off To Houston. ECU softball starts a three-game series at Houston tonight at 7:00pm ET, looking for its first conference win of the season.
The Pirates will be led at the plate by Taylor Edwards, who is hitting .382. Speed is the name of the game for ECU, as Edwards is top-10 in the country in triples and Taudrea Sinnie is tied for the lead-league in stolen bases.
Houston sits at 16-17, coming off a conference sweep of Memphis from March 25-26.
🔼 Gridiron Gang. ECU Head Football Coach Mike Houston has announced new additions to his coaching staff for the upcoming season.
Dyrell Roberts (outside receivers) and Aaron Auer (tight ends/inside receivers) will be in charge of the pass catchers. Re’quan Boyette will move to running backs after serving as the outside receivers coach last season. Additionally, Tyler Almond (defense) and Kyle Deween (special teams) have been named analysts.
🔼 Let’s Get Even. ECU women’s tennis (8-9) has a chance to get back to .500 as it hosts VCU in Greenville this morning at 10:00am ET. The Pirates have played well at home this season, winning three of four matches.
VCU comes into the match at 6-11 overall, with a 2-9 record away from home.

🏴☠️ Alumnus Writes Football Book: Carl Davis’ seats in Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium inspired the title of his first book, but it was the trips to away games that provided many of his stories. “My View from 20 Rows Up: One Pirate Fan’s Story of ECU Football” chronicles more than 30 years of Pirate fandom.
