🔼 Purple-Gold Gridiron Gang. ECU football’s annual Purple-Gold Spring Game will be played this Saturday at 11:00am ET at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium.

The Pirates have already completed a pair of scrimmages this spring, with several athletes standing out. Sophomore quarterback Mason Garcia is one of them, leading his squad to four touchdowns in his time guiding the offense.

Admission to Saturday’s Purple-Gold Spring Game is free to Pirate Nation.

Game one ended in a 17-7 run-rule victory for the Pirates. Trey Yesavage took a no-hitter into the sixth inning and moved to 5-0 on the year, while Alec Makarewicz went 4-for-4 with two runs scored and four RBI.

Game two, a 11-5 win, was more of the same. Carter Spivey didn’t allow a hit until the fifth inning, and Makarewicz went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBI.

Game three will be played at 12:00pm ET today.

🔼 Seeking 10. East Carolina lacrosse hosts Cincinnati on Saturday, looking to become the winningest team in program history.

At 9-3 overall, the Pirates have tied the 2022 group (9-9) for most wins in a season. ECU is 2-0 so far in AAC play this season, also tying last year’s group for conference wins in a season.

Cincinnati comes into the matchup at 9-4 overall, 2-1 in AAC play.

🔼 Close One. A roaring comeback fell just short for the East Carolina softball team, as they fell to Houston in game one of a three-game series, 4-3.

Down 4-0 through four innings, the Pirates fought back into the game with a run in each of the fifth, sixth, and seventh frames. Taudrea Sinnie and Bailee Wilson both had two hits and an RBI in the game.

The two teams are back at it tonight at 7:00pm ET. You can watch on ESPN+.
