🔼 Triple The Fun. It’s a great day for a ballgame - let’s play three! East Carolina baseball took two of the three games of a Saturday tripleheader against Tulane to win the AAC series.

Lightning delayed the Friday night contest with Tulane winning 9-6 in the seventh, but right when play resumed Saturday, the Pirates scored five runs on the Wave to walk off and win 11-10.

Game two didn’t have the same outcome, with Tulane bouncing back for a 8-0 win to force a deciding game three.

Game three was back and forth, but the Pirates dropped the hammer with a six-run sixth to win 8-6.

🔼 Split Decision. East Carolina softball dusted itself off after a 4-2 loss in game one of its weekend doubleheader at NC State, winning game two 4-1 to earn the split.

After notching just three hits in game one, the Pirates fell behind 1-0 in the second inning of game two. Bailee Wilson wouldn’t let her team lose, though - her two-run blast in the fourth inning gave ECU the lead at 2-1, a lead that would hold the rest of the way.

Addy Bullis did the work on the mound in game two, tossing a complete game and striking out three.

🔼 Isley Indoor. In a never-ending recruiting poker game, East Carolina just laid down a pair of aces.

ECU Director of Athletics Jon Gilbert has announced a proposed indoor building will be named the Isley Indoor Performance Center, thanks to the recent $5 million investment Van and Jennifer Isley made to the Pirates Unite Campaign for Comprehensive Excellence.

🔼 To The Postseason. East Carolina lacrosse suffered a tough beat over the weekend to No. 5 James Madison, falling to the Dukes 19-5 on Senior Day.

Senior Camryn Pennypacker led the charge for the Pirates, scoring a pair of goals. Frances Kimel, Ellie Bromley and Erin Gulden also scored.

🤔 PIRATES TRIVIA

Don’t Let The Bats Get Hot. Hitting is contagious, as they say. When the East Carolina bats get rolling, good luck to opposing pitching staffs.

What is the Pirates’ record when scoring at least six runs in a game this season?

🎉 TRIVIA ANSWER

Answer: 23-0!

Give credit to the bats for scoring that many runs and credit to the pitchers for keeping things quiet in the other dugout, that’s a lot of wins!

Have a great Monday, y’all.
