🔼 Better Late Than Never. It took an extra four innings, but East Carolina baseball got the job done on the road, beating Old Dominion 4-1 in 13 innings.

The Pirates outhit the Monarchs 11-3, but couldn’t capitalize on opportunities throughout the game. That is until the 13th inning, when Ryley Johnson and Alec Makarewicz came through with RBIs.

Wyatt Lunsford-Shenkman, tasked with innings 10-12, earned the win on the mound. Landon Ginn earned the save in the final frame.

🔼 Grudge Match. The sixth-seeded ECU softball team has a date with second-seeded and host South Florida today in the quarterfinals of the AAC Championship.

A win against the Bulls would advance the Pirates to the semifinals of the AAC Championship for the second time in school history, the other coming in 2019.

East Carolina was swept by South Florida back in late March in Tampa.

🔼 Analyze This. Shane Montgomery has joined Mike Houston’s ECU football staff as senior offensive analyst.

Montgomery spent the last two seasons as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Buffalo, and also brings four years of head coaching experience at Miami (Ohio) with him to Greenville.
