🔼 Postseason Vibes. No. 15 East Carolina versus No. 14 Campbell baseball sure felt like an NCAA Tournament game on Tuesday night, with the Camels grabbing a late 14-13 victory.

Campbell jumped out to an early 4-0 lead before the Pirates fought back to tie the game.

Campbell again jumped ahead and took an 11-5 lead, and the Pirates again came storming back, scoring eight unanswered runs to take a 13-11 lead thanks to a whole lot of damage from Josh Moylan.

Three Campbell runs in the top of the ninth were the difference, however. ECU is back in action this weekend at South Florida to finish up regular season play.

🔼 On This Date. Happy anniversary to East Carolina softball - on this date 15 years ago, the Pirates won their first-ever NCAA Tournament game!

On May 17, 2008, East Carolina beat Mississippi Valley State, 4-2, in the Baton Rouge Regional. Brooke Swann earned the win for the Pirates in the circle, and Cristen Aona hit a big two-run home run.

🔼 Wicked Weekends. Postseason baseball requires a lot of pitching depth, and East Carolina is primed for a deep run in that regard.

The Pirates’ trio of weekend starters are the best in the conference, and are one of the main reasons for optimism as we inch toward the AAC Championships and beyond.

Trey Yesavage: 3.00 ERA, second in the AAC

Josh Grosz: 3.21 ERA, third in the AAC

Carter Spivey: 3.90 ERA, fifth in the AAC
