Pirate Brew 5/19: Royal Coronation
Today, we're paying our respects to a Royal Pirate.
Good morning! Make sure to wave if you see the ECU women’s basketball staff out on the road this weekend 👋
What all are we mixing into today's Brew?
⚾️ Impressive finish
🏈 Mic’d up
🏴☠️ And much, much more!
📈 STOCK UP
🔼 All Pirates Late. East Carolina gave up three first-inning runs to South Florida. That was the bad part. The good part was everything else, as the Pirates scored eight unanswered runs to take game one 8-3.
ECU tied the game at 3-3 in the fourth inning thanks to RBI singles from Justin Wilcoxen and Joey Berini, and took the lead in the fifth thanks to a Josh Moylan double.
Carter Cunningham put the finishing touches on the team’s eight run-effort with a two-RBI double in the eighth, and also blessed us with these dance moves.
Danny Beal quieted things down on the mound for East Carolina after South Florida tagged the Pirates for three runs early. Beal tossed 6.1 scoreless innings, striking out six.
East Carolina and South Florida are back at it again tonight for game two, with first pitch scheduled for 5:00pm ET.
🔼 Royal Coronation. Another shoutout is deserved for Royal Burris and his efforts at the AAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Burris broke the program record in his second place finish in the 200m, running the event in 20.20 seconds, besting Eugene McNeil’s record of 20.35 seconds, set way back in 1988.
🔼 Let’s Get Active. East Carolina outside wide receivers coach Dyrell Roberts had the guys locked in during his first spring as a Pirate.
