Today, Pirate baseball is yet again AAC champs.
Good morning! The Pirate baseball team woke up this morning champions of the American yet again!
Who knows if that’s the case if Alec Makarewicz doesn’t come out of nowhere to make this diving catch this past weekend.

🔼 Back-To-Back-To-Back-To-Back. For the fourth consecutive season, East Carolina baseball is the champion of the American Athletic Conference, clinching the feat Saturday with a 7-1 win over USF.
Game Two, Friday: East Carolina 6, South Florida 5
The Pirates scored four runs in the eighth to come from behind, stealing a 6-5 victory against the Bulls. Alec Makarewicz got the scoring started in the eighth with an RBI hit-by-pitch, and Jacob Starling tied the game at 5-5 with a two-RBI single soon after. Nathan Chrismon earned the game-winning RBI with a groundout later in the frame.
Game Three, Saturday: East Carolina 7, South Florida 1
Garrett Saylor ended his regular season career in style, earning the win with his five scoreless innings. Leadoff man Josh Moylan went 2-for-5 and drove in four runs, while two-hole hitter Carter Cunningham drove in a pair.
🔼 Headed To NCAAs. East Carolina track & field will send nine athletes in 11 events to the NCAA East Preliminary meet on May 24-27 in Jacksonville, Fla.
Melicia Mouzzon and Royal Burris will compete in a pair of events each - the 100m and 200m.
L’Nya Carpenter (women’s triple jump), Jared Harrell (men’s triple jump), Rebekah Bergquist (women’s discus), Logan Carroll (men’s discus), Naadiya Faison (women’s shot put), Jasmine Jenkins (women’s hammer) and Ansley Frady (women’s javelin) will also compete.
🔼 Soccer Schedule Set. Eighteen games, coming right up! The East Carolina soccer team has announced its 2023 schedule, which will feature seven home games.
The Pirates have a pair of exhibition games set for Aug. 7 (home vs. Elon) and Aug. 12 (at North Carolina), after which the regular season will officially get underway against Aug. 17 against Florida in Gainesville.
