🔼 Survive And Advance. East Carolina baseball weathered a rain delay, a grand slam and a power outage, but by the end of the night, the Pirates came away with a 9-6 win over Cincinnati to advance in the AAC Tournament.

The Pirates will be back on the field Friday, playing the loser of today’s South Florida-UCF matchup.

🔼 Learning From History. East Carolina women’s basketball’s 2021-22 season ended with back-to-back losses to Memphis, one in the regular season finale and the other in the first round of the AAC Tournament.

The 2022-23 team was looking at a similar situation, having lost to Tulane in the regular season finale and drawing the Green Wave again in the AAC Tournament.

But the 2022-23 team was different. That group played hard-nosed basketball for the full 94 feet. They kept the pressure on. And they were champions.

🔼 Moving On. It was a successful day at the NCAA Track and Field East Preliminary meet for East Carolina sprinter Royal Burris, who moved on to the quarterfinals in both the 100m and 200m dash.

Burris qualified for the 100m quarterfinals with a run of 10.30 seconds, and qualified in the 200m with a time of 20.46 seconds.

The quarterfinals for both events will be held Friday.
