🔼 NCAAs Next. Tulane baseball got the best of East Carolina in a back-and-forth AAC Tournament title game, winning 8-6 to claim the automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament from the conference.

The Green Wave scored three first-inning runs, but the Pirates answered back with four of their own in the bottom half thanks to an RBI base hit from Justin Wilcoxen and some help from the Tulane defense.

Jacob Starling and Josh Moylan both contributed RBI as well, but another three-run inning from Tulane in the fifth and a few insurance runs in the late innings were too much to overcome.

The good news is that East Carolina is squarely in the NCAA Tournament, and will learn its Regional destination during the NCAA Baseball Tournament Selection Show today on ESPN2 at noon ET.

🔼 How They Got Here. The Pirates showed resiliency all week at the AAC Championships, losing their first game and rattling off four straight wins after just to make it to the championship game.

⚾️ East Carolina vs. South Florida, Saturday morning: ECU got eight innings of one-run ball from Garrett Saylor and won 3-1 over the Bulls.

🔼 That’s A Wrap. East Carolina track and field concluded its outdoor season over the weekend, coming just short of qualifying for the NCAA Championships in a couple races.

Royal Burris and Melicia Mouzzon both advanced to the quarterfinals in the 100m, with Burris additionally advancing in the 200m. Burris finished 24th in the 100m and 17th in the 200m, while Mouzzon finished 17th in the 100m.

🤔 PIRATES TRIVIA

Don’t Call It A Comeback. East Carolina baseball lost its first game of the AAC Tournament, but fought back to make it to the championship game.
