📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Weekend Momentum. The Pirates traveled north this weekend, but the bats were red hot in a sweep of Cincinnati.

Luke Nowak got his wind sprints in during game one, grabbing a pair of triples while driving in three runs to lead ECU. Justin Wilcoxen had three hits in the game, and Alex Makarewicz was a total-bases machine, hitting a home run and a triple.

Two big innings gave ECU all the cushion it needed in game two, winning running away. Wilcoxen was a pain for Cincinnati again (and then some), collecting a pair of hits, two runs scored, and five RBI. Jacob Starling and Joey Berini both had three hits.

It took 10 innings, but the Pirates eventually got the job done thanks to a Jacob Jenkins-Cowart RBI single in extras. East Carolina also got five phenomenal no-hit innings from Wyatt Lunsford-Shenkman, who earned the win.

🔼 Where We Stand. With just two more weekends to go in the regular season, the race to the top of the AAC baseball standings is still incredibly close. Here is where East Carolina stands:

  1. Houston, 12-5

  2. East Carolina, 12-6

  3. Wichita State, 10-7

🔼 Storm Warning. Tulsa outstayed its welcome in Greenville this weekend, taking the final regular season series of the year against East Carolina softball.

Taudrea Sinnie was the bright spot for the Pirates in game one, collecting the only two hits of the game for her team.

The Pirates held a 3-2 lead heading into the sixth inning, but a late rally from Tulsa gave the Hurricanes the edge. Sinnie grabbed another hit, as did Taylor Edwards, and Sydney Yoder tallied an RBI single and a pair of runs scored.

Madisyn Davis and Addy Bullis shared pitching duties for the Pirates, Davis allowing two earned runs in four innings and Bullis throwing the final three with just two hits allowed.

🤔 PIRATES TRIVIA

Circle ‘Em All. When the East Carolina bats get rolling, good luck beating this team. If the Pirates start hitting home runs, it’s over.
