What are we serving up in today's Brew?

The American Athletic Conference announced select kickoff times and television assignments on Wednesday, with four Pirate games impacted:

📅 Saturday, Sept. 2 at Michigan: kickoff at noon ET on Peacock

📅 Saturday, Sept. 16 at Appalachian State: kickoff at 3:30pm ET on ESPN+

📅 Thursday, Oct. 12 vs. SMU: kickoff at 7:30pm ET on ESPN

📅 Saturday, Nov. 18 at Navy: kickoff TBD on an ESPN network

🔼 History Lesson. Before the chaos starts tomorrow in Charlottesville, let’s take a moment to appreciate just how much success East Carolina baseball has had lately.

🏴‍☠️ 33 NCAA Regional appearances

🏴‍☠️ Qualified for 19 of the last 24 NCAA Tournaments

🏴‍☠️ Cliff Godwin has made a Regional in seven of his eight seasons

🏴‍☠️ 40 wins for the fifth consecutive year

🔼 Throwback Thursday. We picked a random East Carolina baseball game from last year to reminisce on this morning, and we landed on June 4, 2022 against Virginia in the Greenville Regional, which the Pirates won 4-2.

ECU got five strong innings of one-run ball from C.J. Mayhue, and then stellar relief outings from Garrett Saylor, Carter Spivey and Zach Agnos.

Josh Moylan hit a two-run homer in the second inning to give the Pirates the lead, and Justin Wilcoxen added on with a round-tripper of his own to make it a 3-1 ballgame.

What’s that, East Carolina and Virginia are again in the same NCAA Regional? What a coincidence!
