🔼 Friday Night Lights. It’s Pirates vs. Sooners tonight at the NCAA Charlottesville Regional!

East Carolina and Oklahoma match up at 7:00pm ET on ESPN2 in a crucial matchup in each team’s first game of NCAA Tournament action.

Oklahoma, with a 31-26 record, got an at-large bid into the tournament thanks to its strong RPI. That RPI comes in part from series wins over Big 12 Tournament champion TCU, overall No. 8 seed Stanford and Big 12 regular season champion Texas.

🔼 Student-Athlete. A huge congratulations goes out to East Carolina runner Coleman Ferrell, who was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team!

Ferrell, an engineering/mathematics double major, was a contributing member of two of the top-10 distance medley teams in program history.

🔼 Four Score And Four Years Ago. On this date four years ago in the 2019 NCAA Greenville Regional, the Pirate bats came alive.

After losing to Quinnipiac 5-4 in the first game of the Regional the night before, East Carolina came back the next day with its back against the wall and delivered a pair of victories to keep its season alive - a 9-2 win over NC State and a 13-3 win over Quinnipiac.

The Pirates would go on to beat Campbell twice in the Regional championship to move into the Super Regionals.
