🔼 Brains And Brawn. Sophia LoCicero is quite the accomplished athlete at East Carolina, starting 10 games for the Pirate women’s lacrosse team this spring and scoring 27 goals.

Possibly her biggest accomplishment, though?

LoCicero was just named the women’s recipient of the AAC’s 2022-23 Commissioner’s Postgraduate Leadership Award!

Away from the lacrosse field, LoCicero finished her undergraduate career in 2022 with Magna Cum Laude distinction and is currently enrolled in grad school at ECU, pursuing a Master of Communication Sciences and Disorders degree.

🔼 Just Keep Working. East Carolina safety Devon King walked onto the football team after transferring from Marshall before the 2021 season.

For two seasons, he grinded on special teams under that walk-on tag.

This past Christmas, King was rewarded for that hard work by Santa Claus (aka head coach Mike Houston) with a full scholarship for the 2023 season.

We can’t wait to watch No. 45 out on the gridiron this fall!

🔼 Summer Sweat. East Carolina women’s basketball knows a little something about what it takes to build a championship-winning team.

It takes those sweaty summer days in the gym when there are no fans in the stands and no opposing team across from them.

The Pirates are willing to put in that work!
