🔼 Big Finish. Puerto Rico got a taste of East Carolina at the Pan American U20 Track and Field Championships with Jared Harrell securing fifth place in the men’s triple jump with a 15.00 meter leap. The fight for first place was tight with Harrell being just .67 meters behind the winner.

The sophomore earned his spot at the Pan Am games after a fourth place finish at the USATF U20 Championships and he also was named American Freshman of the Year last season.

🔼 Cloud Nine. Starting on the bump for the ninth time is ECU alum Gavin Williams. The first round pick back made his MLB debut this year with the Cleveland Guardians and he’s made nine appearances so far, starting each of them.

In his career at ECU, he produced like one of the program’s all-time best—sitting at fifth in fewest runs allowed, ninth in fewest hits allowed, and 12th in fewest earned run allowed.
