🔼 Top Five. The American Athletic Conference Preseason Polls are here. First off, they ranked the teams. The Pirates were ranked fifth out of 14 teams, and junior guard RJ Felton was named to the Preseason Second Team. This is the highest ECU has been ranked since joining the league prior to the 2014-2015 season. Let’s see what the men can do this season under head coach Michael Schwartz, who’s entering his second season at ECU.

🔼 Second is the Best. The women are back on top coming into the 2023 season. The American Athletic Conference picked the Pirates to finish second in the Preseason Poll as they try to defend their 2023 conference tournament championship. Danae McNeal was recognized as the Preseason Player of the Year, and she and Amiya Joyner were named to the Preseason First-Team All-Conference squad.

We like our Brew hot n’ fresh. But we’re not opposed to you reheating your cup. Here’s some news you may have missed recently…

🏴‍☠️ Multi-match Wins. ECU women’s tennis had a whopping 17 victories at the Liberty Hidden Duals competition. Kim Auerswald and Anne Lou Champion went undefeated over the two days in doubles play, and Martina Muzzolon and Noelle Talarek both went 2-1.

🏴‍☠️ Updates. The football schedule has an update! Get your calendar ready… ECU takes on UNC-Charlotte on Oct. 21 at 2 p.m., and the game will air on ESPN+. The Pirates will also take on Tulsa on Nov. 25, and the time is TBA. Both games are at home, so get your tickets now!
