🔼 Top 3. The swim and dive team just took third place in the WVU Invitational. On day one, Emilee Hamblin had the best finish, placing third in the 500-yard free finals. On day two, Sadie Covington, Hamblin, Heidi Bruining, and Carlie Clements placed first in the 800-yard freestyle relay. Kaylee Hamblin broke the ECU 100 breaststroke record with her 1:00.06 time.

🔼 Missed the Lead. The men’s basketball team faced a tough Northeastern. The Pirates led 33-29 after the first half but couldn’t keep up with the Huskies in the second and lost 76-82. Ezra Ausar scored 18 points, and Bobby Pettiford Jr. had a career-high 15 points.

Record Beaten. Kaylee Hamblin is now the fastest ECU swimmer ever with her 100 breaststroke time. The former record holder was Megan Sellers, with her time of 1:00.41.

⏪ ICYMI

We like our Brew hot n’ fresh. But we’re not opposed to you reheating your cup. Here’s some news you may have missed recently…

🏴‍☠️ One Dub. The volleyball team faced Charlotte twice this past weekend and went 1-1. The Pirates came out strong with a 3-0 win but fell in the second match 2-3. Ellie Pate set a career-high with 11 kills. Fran McBride led the team with 12 kills and three blocks in match one. Angeles Alderete led in match two with 13 kills, three aces and one block. We also celebrated our seniors since it was the last regular season home game.

🏴‍☠️ Missing O. The football team lost against Navy 10-0 this past weekend. The Pirate’s offense was not able to find the end zone, but the defense was able to keep Navy in check. There were 20 tackles for loss, five turnovers, one missed field goal, one blocked field goal and 14 punts.
