🔼 Big Play Zay. Another day, another highlight from East Carolina football alum Zay Jones out of Jacksonville Jaguars training camp. This time, it’s a straight sprint to the end zone as he outran teammate Chris Claybrooks. Now that is A-1 route running, y’all.

🔼 Running On Plenty. Save those dates! The East Carolina cross country team has released this year’s schedule as they compete in six meets during the 2023 season with two taking place on the Pirates' home course at Overton's Lake Kristi.

The team will open the season on September 1 as they travel to Elon's Friday Night Lights meet. The Pirates competed at the same meet a season ago with both the men and women's teams finishing third. After that, the Pirates will make a trip down the road to Cary, North Carolina on September 15 for the Adidas XC Challenge hosted by N.C. State.

🏴‍☠️ “Meet The Pirates” Event Set For August 19. The 28th Annual Meet the Pirates event, sponsored by Optimum, is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 19 at Bagwell Field inside Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium starting at 11:30 a.m. The event will once again be open to the public, family friendly and free for all in attendance. Entry into the stadium will be through Carl and Connie Rogers Level.

🏴‍☠️ Football Picked Sixth In 2023 AAC Preseason Poll. Entering its 10th campaign as a member of the conference, East Carolina has been tabbed to finish sixth in the 2023 AAC Preseason Media Poll. The American Conference welcomed six new institutions to the circuit in July—Charlotte, Florida Atlantic, North Texas, Rice, UAB and UTSA—to offset the departures of Cincinnati, Houston, and UCF to the Big 12 Conference.

🏴‍☠️ Women’s Basketball to Host South Carolina on December 30. The East Carolina women's basketball team is slated to play host to the South Carolina Gamecocks in a non-conference tilt on Dec. 30 in Minges Coliseum, game time to be announced at a later date.
