Pirate Brew 7/4: Single Shot
Today, we celebrate our Independence Day.
Good morning! And Happy Independence Day! Long weekends are great, but you know what's even better? A long weekend followed by a short workweek followed by another weekend.
This morning, we hope you enjoy this mini-sized Pirate Brew. (Think of it as a single shot of ECU Athletics.)
We’ll be back with your Venti-sized edition tomorrow.
🎧 KEEPING WATCH
Whether you’ve got a day filled with friends and family or you’ve got a nice, quiet summer day on deck—these hand-picked episodes telling stories from around ECU Athletics will give your July 4th the boost they need.
🎥 One Percent: A Story On Parker Byrd: After an accident that resulted in the loss of part of his right leg, Parker Byrd was recently named the Pirate Pride award winner at the 2023 Goldspys for ECU student-athletes. Part of the presentation of the award to Byrd was a 15-minute video that ECU Athletics put together about him and all he’s been through. Watch friends, roommates, and his parents talk about the boating accident that happened in Bath, the eventual surgery to remove part of his right leg, getting his prosthetic, and much more.
🎥 Spring Scrimmage Highlights & Interviews: Go behind the scenes and hear from coaches and players as the Pirates gear up for the fall during the latest installment of the annual Spring Scrimmage.
🎥 Harold & Amanda Varner Gift To East Carolina: Hear from ECU Hall of Famer Harold Varner III as he reflects on the importance of giving back to a university that means so much to him and his family.
