🏀 Johnson records a career-high

🔼 Win Column. The women’s basketball team took the dub over Charlotte 70-56 on Saturday. Amiya Joyner had 24 points and Danae McNeal had 20. Joyner also had 13 rebounds, a steal, an assist and drew eight fouls on the 49ers. McNeal had eight rebounds, six assists, five blocks and three steals.

🔼 Even Higher. The men’s basketball team beat UTSA 84-73 with the help of Brandon Johnson’s career-high 30-point game. Johnson also had a career-best seven made three-pointers. This was the first game the Pirates have scored 80 points in since Nov. 21. RJ Felton added 16 points, and Jaden Walker had a career-high 13 assists.

🏴‍☠️ Golden Hour. He’s on the list, and you can vote for him to win! Trey Yesavage was named to the 2024 Preseason Golden Spikes Award Watch List. He is the sixth person in program history to earn inclusion on the prestigious ledger. There are a total of 55 players from both high school and college on the list. Voting will begin on May 20 with the naming of the semifinalists.
