Pirate Brew 11/7: Tip-Off Frenzy

Today, we're looking at the men's and women's basketball team's first wins of the season.

Good morning. ECU football looked so good in its uniforms last weekend that UNISWAG ranked them No. 2 for Week 10. Can’t wait to see what the boys will wear this Saturday against FAU.

What else are we mixing into today's Brew?

🏀 Men’s first home game win
🏀 Women’s win away game
🏴‍☠️ And much, much more!

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 First Dub. The men put up a 30-point lead over Ferrum and almost hit 100 points in their first game of the season. ECU beat Ferrum 91-61 and shot a 52% field goal. Brandon Johnson had a huge 29 points and nine rebounds. The next highest scorer was Ezra Ausar, with 13 points and five rebounds. The Pirates take on Campbell next on Nov. 11.

🔼  Victory Begins. The women also had a 30-point lead over Elon for a 68-37 win. The Pirates shot the best in the third quarter with a 46.67% field goal, went 8-8 in free throws, and scored a total of 26 points. Danae McNeal led the team with 22 points, and Tatyana Wyche had 10 rebounds. The Pirates have a quick turnaround with a game on Thursday against USC Upstate at home.

🤔 PIRATES TRIVIA

Coming Up. The football team is just days away from taking on FAU. The teams have only faced each other once in the past, which was Sept. 5, 2013.
