🔼 Great Start. The volleyball team opened the 2026 season hot. The Pirates shut out Bethune-Cookman 3-0 in its first match of the Pirate Invitational. Ellie Pate led the team with 10 kills. Allie Huff had 11 blocks. The women had another shutout against Hampton. In the 3-0 victory, Angeles Alderete recorded six kills and six digs, bringing her career totals to 1,144 kills and 1,001 digs. She became the seventh player in program history to surpass 1k digs. The Pirates finished the weekend with a 3-1 win against Radford, claiming the Pirate Invitational Tournament title. Taryn Gilreath, Huff and Pate were named to the All-Tournament Team. Gilreath notched 101 assists, averaging 10.10 per set, while having six service aces, recording four of them against Radford.

🔼 Shutout! The soccer team beat Western Carolina 2-0 on Sunday. AJ Mayock and Anna Miotto both scored. This marks the team’s first dub of the season. Goalkeeper Olivia Dietrich had seven saves for her second clean sheet of the season. The Pirates had 16 shots and seven were on goal.
