🔼 Tourney Time. The volleyball team competed in the DEACTOWN Invitational this past weekend. ECU started with a 3-0 victory over Wake Forest on Friday. The Pirates posted a season-high .312 hitting percentage. Allie Huff led the team with 11 kills. The women then fell to East Tennessee State 3-2. Ellie Pate led the team with 17 kills. ECU fell on Sunday to Georgia Southern 3-0. Kai Bailey led the team with eight kills.

🔼 Close Game. The football team had a close game for its home opener against App State. The Pirates fell 27-24. Michael Allen, Jackson Dickerson and Ja’Keith Hamilton all scored touchdowns. Quarterback Mitch Griffis threw 21-for-37 for 230 yards and two touchdowns. Ashton Gray rushed for 103 yards on 16 attempts. Julien Davis had eight tackles.
