The softball team defeated North Dakota State in its home opener.

🔼 Now Walk it Out. The softball team played North Dakota State and made a huge comeback. Going into the bottom of the seventh, the Pirates were down 4-1. That all changed when Anna Sawyer hit a walk-off three RBI double to win 5-4. The team is now 7-0 this season, its best start since 2006. Jordan Hatch earned the win and is 4-0 so far this season.

🔼 Cannot Pass. The American Athletic Conference named Jaime Behar Goalkeeper of the Week. This is Behar’s first honor of her career. She made 11 saves in the game against Queen’s on Saturday for her first career win. Along with Behar, Frances Kimel was named to the league’s weekly Honor Roll.

Clock Work. Scoring four goals in the women’s lacrosse game against Queens, Frances Kimel has her 42nd career multi-point game. She also added to her multi-goal game record.

🏴‍☠️ New Beginnings. It’s been since 2021 that a Pirate has received American Athletic Player of the Week for softball. Now, Emma Jackson earns it after just the first week of the season. Jackson batted .652 with nine RBIs, six doubles and two home runs in six games.

🏴‍☠️ Also Recognized. The AAC also recognized Jordan Hatch on softball for her performance over the weekend. She was named to the weekly Honor Roll. Hatch pitched 16.1 innings and earned all wins.
