Good morning. The men’s and women’s basketball teams had big wins this weekend. See how the Pirates performed below!

🔼 Just Takes One. The men’s basketball team had a tight game against UTSA, beating them 80-79. C.J. Walker led the team with 28 points and 10 rebounds for his fifth double-double of the year. He also hit the last-second shot to win the game. RJ Felton scored 15 points on four made threes.

🔼 Even Steven. The women’s basketball team beat Tulsa 73-64. The all-time series between the programs is now even. Devin Hagemann now has 25 assists in the last four games, which hasn’t been done by an ECU player since the 2017-18 season. Amiya Joyner led the team with 21 points.

🔼 Season Begins. The softball team kicked off its season this weekend. The Pirates beat Providence 6-4, fell to Virginia 2-4, beat Saint Francis 8-2 and fell to South Carolina 1-0. Annie Kate Dalton led the Pirates to beat Providence, going 3-for-4 at the plate with two doubles and a home run. Anna Sawyer went 3-for-5 at the plate against Saint Francis.

🔼 Opening Win. The women’s lacrosse team beat Queens 12-8 in its season opener. This is the largest margin win in the program’s series history with the Royals. Kayla Wilkes led the team with five goals.

🏴‍☠️ Regular Season Finished. The swim and dive team completed its regular season schedule at the UNC Invite. Kaylee Hamblin was the only Pirate to take home first place in an event. She won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:00.09. The A team finished second in the 200 freestyle relay.
