Good morning. Walk-off and run-rule wins are how this past weekend went for the ECU softball and baseball team. How bout that?

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Undefeated Weekend. The softball team racked up many wins this past weekend in the Purple-Gold Invitational. The Pirates beat Youngstown State 9-3 and 9-1, Appalachian State 10-2 and 4-3, and Saint Joseph’s 4-0. Annie Kate Dalton went 3-3 in game one against Youngstown State. Jordan Hatch pitched all five innings in the first game against Appalachian State to earn the win.

Emma Jackson went 2-4 with two doubles in the second win over Youngstown. Taylor Apple recorded a win, tossing two strikeouts against Saint Joseph’s. In game two against Appalachian State, Joie Fittante hit an RBI single for the winning run.

🔼 Sweep. The baseball team hosted the LeClair Classic and had an amazing performance. The men beat Purdue 7-1 and went into extra innings to beat Cal State Fullerton 2-1 but lost 11-9 against Southern Louisiana. Trey Yesavage threw a career-best eight scoreless innings against Purdue. The Pirates had a walk-off win against Cal State Fullerton after 11 innings. Nathan Chrismon hit a sacrifice fly for Justin Wilcoxen to score and win the game. The Pirates had five home runs in the SLU game, two coming from both Carter Cunningham and Wilcoxen.

On Top. The baseball team is now leading the all-time series against Cal State Fullerton after its walk-off win on Saturday.

🏴‍☠️ Final Standing. The women’s basketball team lost its final game of the regular season against Temple 66-81. The Danae McNeal and Khia Miller scored in double figures. The seniors were recognized at this final game.

🏴‍☠️ Doubles. The men’s basketball team faced North Texas, and three athletes scored in the double digits. RJ Felton and Brandon Johnson each had 14 points, and Jaden Walker had 11. The Pirates fell to the Mean Green 84-69.
